CIMSPA and 1st4sport Qualifications sign partnership agreement

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and 1st4sport Qualifications have agreed to work together as partners in support of education and professional development in the sport and physical activity sector.

As part of the agreement 1st4sport Qualifications will be designated by CIMSPA as their “awarding organisation partner for sport” and CIMSPA will professionally recognise a number of qualifications from the 1st4sport Qualifications portfolio which are ideal in supporting an individual’s personal and professional development in the industry.

CIMSPA will also support 1st4sport Qualifications in their mission to provide high quality qualifications to the industry by facilitating access to members and employers to research and confirm qualification requirements for the sector.

This is the first partnership agreement put in place by CIMSPA during the 2014 Transformation Programme and recognises the ongoing commitment of 1st4sport Qualifications to both CIMSPA and the sport and physical activity sector as a whole. 1st4sport Qualifications have been an awarding body partner with CIMSPA since 2011 and this new agreement marks a continuation of that commitment to the sector and the transforming organisation.

The qualifications which are included as part of the agreement will carry the CIMSPA logo and be jointly promoted by the two organisations. Learners on those qualifications will be encouraged to join the Chartered Institute to demonstrate their commitment to the sector and their own ongoing professional development.

Tara Dillon, Interim Chief Operating Officer for CIMSPA, said “as we progress with the 2014 Transformation Programme and begin to put in place a high quality delivery network for education and professional development, it was important that our first major partnership agreement was made with 1st4sport Qualifications, a long term supporter of CIMSPA and an awarding organisation known for their quality and unerring commitment to the sport and physical activity sector”.
