New Ofqual general conditions – what do they mean for you?

We have been developing our documentation, systems and processes to ensure our compliance with the new Ofqual general conditions for recognised awarding organisations that came into effect as of May 2011.

While the focus of our development work is to guarantee compliance with the regulatory requirements, we also aim to improve our systems and process to improve our services to you. Your opinion is extremely important to us, and in this developmental phase, we have considered all feedback we have received from our centres over the past two years.

As a result of your feedback, examples of the developments made include:

  • brand-new centre recognition and qualification conditions
  • policy and procedural updates to integrate all required legislation
  • improved structure and content of our qualification specifications
  • improved business processes, supported by Athena, which will lead to more effective customer services.

What’s more, as part of this process, we will introduce a landing page that will improve your ability to navigate around Athena. We expect this helpful page to make it easier for you to source your EV reports and respond to any action you may have.

Full details of all developments made will be provided to you in March 2012, and our EVs will be trained to assist you with any questions that you may have.
