What is an awarding body?
As an awarding body it is our job to develop qualifications; support the 1st4sport recognised centres who deliver our qualifications to learners and to provide quality assurance for those qualifications.

What is a 1st4sport recognised centre?
1st4sport recognised centres are further education colleges, universities, private training providers, governing bodies or county sports partnerships that wish to educate their students or workforce in subject areas within the Active Leisure and Learning Industry.

To deliver a qualification, your organisation must first apply to become a 1st4sport recognised centre. You can then make applications for each qualification.

How much does it all cost?

There is a £500 (+ VAT, where applicable) charge to become a 1st4sport recognised centre. Currently there is no fee to apply to deliver individual qualifications once centre recognition is achieved.

Also, we work hard to make all our qualifications fundable. For further information on funding eligibility, please visit the Education and Skills Funding Agency Funding Hub.
