Developed in partnership with British Water Ski & Wakeboard (BWSW), the governing body of sport for water skiing and wakeboarding, the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Water Skiing provides learners aged 18 years and over with an introduction to the principles and practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of water skiing programmes to adults and young people in an appropriate environment**. Holders of this Certificate will be able to seek employment coaching water skiing.

Prior to registration, learners are required to:
- be aged 18 years or over
- hold a 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Water Skiing/Wakeboarding or have previously competed internationally for GBR as recognised by BWSW
- be able to communicate effectively in English1(this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
1 Learners must be able to understand the requirements of the qualification and the information within the qualification materials in English without assistance. Where there is demand, this qualification may also be available in Welsh or Irish.
The 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Water Skiing comprises 11 units of assessment, of which four are generic knowledge-specific units (301–304) and seven water skiing coaching-specific units (305–311). Learners will be required to show that they can plan and deliver coaching programmes that meet the requirements of the Level 3 Technical Syllabus for Water Skiing. Learners who already hold the four generic units may be able to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL), at the discretion of their recognised centre/assessor. To qualify for the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Water Skiing, learners must successfully complete/have credit for all 11 mandatory units.

Fees are charged per learner and provide registration and certification for the qualification, as well as a 1st4sport Learner Pack, learning resources and certificate. Centre recognition, qualification approval and annual centre fees may also be applicable.
