This qualification is equivalent to Level 4 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)*.

Developed in partnership with the British Racing Authority (BHA) the 1st4sport Level 3 Award in Schooling Racehorses provides a benefit to learners who already have considerable experience in riding racehorses and who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to progress onto schooling racehorses over hurdles and fences. This qualification is suitable for learners who are already employed in the racing industry.

Learners are required to:
- have been accurately identified*
- be at least 16 years of age
- able to communicate effectively in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
NB. It is recommended that potential learners have an interest in the area and/or some experience to ensure that this is the correct qualification for them.
* The identify check must be completed in the course induction
The learner must successfully achieve the single mandatory unit to achieve the qualification.

- Qualification Specification outlining the requirements of delivering and assessing the qualification
Fees are charged per learner and provide registration and certification for the qualification, as well as a 1st4sport Learner Pack, learning resources and certificate. Centre recognition, qualification approval and annual centre fees may also be applicable.
