This qualification is equivalent to Level 4 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)*.

Developed in partnership with British Showjumping, the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Equestrian Coaching (Showjumping) is designed to provide learners aged 18 and over with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching showjumping to adults and children. The Certificate offers an opportunity for showjumping coaches to be supported in developing the knowledge of how to effectively plan, conduct and evaluate annual coaching programmes for showjumping in a safe, ethical and effective manner. Those who complete this Certificate will be able to work as a showjumping coach, either alone or as part of a larger coaching team.

Prior to registration, learners are required to:

  • be accurately identified
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Equestrian Coaching or equivalent
  • have attended a British Showjumping screening assessment
  • be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

Prior to certification for the qualification learners are required to:

  • attend and have a valid and in date certificate for a recognised first/emergency aid workshop
  • attend and have a valid and in date certificate for a recognised safeguarding workshop (online version not accepted)

Fees are charged per learner and provide registration and certification for the qualification, as well as a 1st4sport Learner Pack, learning resources and certificate. Centre recognition, qualification approval and annual centre fees may also be applicable.

All learners being registered for RQF qualifications are required to have a Unique Learner Number (ULN) issued by the Learner Register.
