This qualification is equivalent to Level 3 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)*.

Developed in partnership with the National Source Group for Korfball ,the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Korfball provides learners aged 18 and over with an introduction to the principles/practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of korfball coaching sessions to adults and young people in an appropriate environment. It’s designed for individuals preparing to work in a korfball coaching environment who wish to independently coach weight lifting to young people and adults, usually within a club environment. Recognised as the industry standard level 2 qualification for coaching korfball in the UK achieving the qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles as a korfball coach or learners may wish to explore other industry-relevant roles which include:

  • Korfball Official
  • Sports Volunteer.

Prior to registration learners are required to:

  • be appropriately identified
  • at least 18 years of age
  • have successfully completed one of the following courses:
    • British Korfball Association (BKA) Level 1 Award or above
    • International Korfball Federation (IKF) Level 1 Award
    • England Korfball Teaching Children Korfball course
    • England Korfball (EK) Level 1 Award or above
  • able to communicate effectively in English.

There are no further prerequisites prior to certification other than successful completion of all related 1st4sport assessed tasks, enabling full coverage of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for this qualification.

Fees are charged per learner and provide registration and certification for the qualification, as well as a 1st4sport Learner Pack, learning resources and certificate. Centre recognition, qualification approval and annual centre fees may also be applicable.

All learners being registered for RQF qualifications are required to have a Unique Learner Number (ULN) issued by the Learner Register.
