This qualification is equivalent to Level 4 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)*.

Developed in partnership with British Water Ski & Wakeboard (BWSW), the governing body of sport for water skiing and wakeboarding, the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cable Wakeboarding provides learners with an introduction to the principles/practice of the safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of cable wakeboarding coaching sessions to adults and young people in an appropriate environment**.Holders of this Certificate will be qualified to coach the skills and techniques of cable wakeboarding, as identified in the Assessment Requirements, and therefore able to gain employment as a qualified coach.

Prior to registration, learners are required to:

  • be aged 16 years or over
  • have a working knowledge of the Cutting Edge Silver Syllabus in Cable Wakeboarding
  • be able to communicate effectively in English[1] (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

[1] Learners must be able to understand the requirements of the qualification and the information within the qualification materials in English without assistance. Where there is demand, this qualification may also be available in Welsh or Irish.

The 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cable Wakeboarding comprises eight units of assessment (see below), of which four are generic knowledge-specific units (201–204) and four cable wakeboarding coaching-specific units (205–208) during which learners will be required to show that they can plan and deliver coaching sessions that meet the requirements of the Level 2 Technical Syllabus for Cable Wakeboarding. Learners who already hold the four generic units may be able to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL), at the discretion of their recognised centre/assessor. To qualify for the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cable Wakeboarding, learners must successfully complete/have credit for all eight mandatory units.

Fees are charged per learner and provide registration and certification for the qualification, as well as a 1st4sport Learner Pack, learning resources and certificate. Centre recognition, qualification approval and annual centre fees may also be applicable.
