The objective of the qualification is to provide the introductory knowledge and skills to support practitioners’ training in a role of Talented Athlete Lifestyle Advisor, or similar. Providing lifestyle support and advice to talented athletes, whether in an employed or voluntary capacity, is a rewarding and responsible role. The sporting community has expectations of practitioners’ conduct and behaviour that must be understood and supported by everybody. The UK Coaching Code of Practice for Sports Coaches determine appropriate behaviour for coaches, and is also relevant to lifestyle practitioners.
In addition, the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support will also enable successful learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level if they wish to do so.
The1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support is awarded by 1st4sport and has been developed in partnership with the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS).
The 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support is designed with the purpose to provide learners with an introduction to the principles and practice of supporting and advising talented athletes in managing their personal development and lifestyle due to their sporting commitments. It has been designed to enable learners to study both the theoretical and practical aspects of the support and advising process.
Successful learners could seek employment in appropriate paid or voluntary Talented Athlete Lifestyle Advisor roles, or similar. It is recommended that new practitioners holding 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support should be overseen/mentored by another more experienced practitioner working within this area.
The 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support serves as an entry qualification to The Register of Personal Development Practitioners in Sport (RPDPS). Further information can be found at www.rpdps.org.
Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees, and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Learner Pack and an appropriate learning resource.
