This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to enable you to develop high level athletes through effective strength and conditioning coaching for sport. The qualification is composed of eleven mandatory units.

The qualification is recognised as the industry standard level 3 qualification for coaching strength and conditioning by the industry and has the support of a range of employers and colleges, as the sole qualification for those looking to begin a career in coaching strength and conditioning for sport.

The qualification is designed to prepare aspiring coaches for employment as a strength and conditioning for sport coach in paid or voluntary roles, potentially within professional sport. It is appropriate for existing Level 2 strength and conditioning coaches wishing to develop coaching skills in strength and conditioning.

You need to be 18 years of age or above to attend this programme of learning and you also need to hold the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning for Sport. You must also be able to provide evidence of having completed a minimum of 12 months post Level 2 as a practising strength and conditioning for sport coach.

This qualification leads to paid or voluntary roles in coaching strength and conditioning in a variety of settings including working as a head coach within sports clubs or working as a coach within professional sport.

The skills and knowledge developed through this qualification may also be used enable you to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications in coaching other sports, supporting PE in school sport and sports development.

Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Qualifications Learner Pack and appropriate learning resource.
