1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Korfball)

The objective of the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Korfball is to provide a benefit to learners through an introduction into the principles/practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of korfball coaching sessions to adults and young people in an appropriate environment.
This qualification is supported by the National Source Group for Korfball, (NSG), comprising of members from each of the home country National Governing Bodies for Korfball comprised of the National Governing Bodies (England Korfball, the Welsh Korfball Association and the Scottish Korfball Association).
This qualification is designed for individuals preparing to work in a korfball coaching environment who wish to independently coach korfball to young people and adults, usually within a club environment. In order to register for this qualification, the learner must:
- be appropriately identified
- be at least 18 years of age
- have successfully completed one of the following course
- British Korfball Association (BKA) Level 1 Award or above
- International Korfball Federation (IKF) Level 1 Award
- England Korfball Teaching Children Korfball course
- England Korfball (EK) Level 1 Award or above
- be able to communicate effectively in English.
The qualification is recognised as the industry standard level 2 qualification for coaching korfball in the UK.
Following a period of practice as a qualified coach, learners may choose to develop their skills by progressing to the 1st4sport Level 3 Award in the Principles for Coaching Sport.
This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles as a korfball coach or they may wish to explore other industry-relevant roles which include:
- Korfball Official
- Sports Volunteer.
Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees, and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Learner Pack and an appropriate learning resource.
