The objective of the 1st4sport Entry Level Award in Catching and Leading, Grooming and Rugging up a Horse (Entry 3) is to provide a benefit to learners through providing an introduction to horse care to people who have an interest in horses and may want to work with them but have little previous experience.

The 1st4sport Entry Level Award in Catching and Leading, Grooming and Rugging up a Horse (Entry 3) will give the learner the basic skills and knowledge required to catch, lead, groom and rug up a horse under supervision and will prepare them for further training.

This qualification is supported by the BHA as the trade association and employers for Horseracing in the UK. Technical experts from within the BHA have provided technical advice in the development of the qualification.

This qualification is designed for individuals who have an interest in horses and may want to work with them but have little previous experience.

Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees, and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Learner Pack and an appropriate learning resource.
