This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to enable you to develop high level cricketers through effective cricket coaching. The qualification is composed of eleven mandatory units.

The qualification is recognised as the industry standard level 3 qualification for coaching by the national governing bodies for cricket in England: the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The qualification is also endorsed by the trade association for coaches, sports coach UK Coaching, as meeting its UKCC criteria.

The qualification is designed to prepare aspiring coaches for employment as a cricket coach in paid or voluntary roles, potentially within the professional game. It is appropriate for existing Level 2 cricket coaches wishing to develop coaching skills in cricket.

You need to be 18 years of age or above to attend this programme of learning and you also need to hold either of the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Children’s/Young people and Adults Cricket qualifications, and have current/recent evidence of coaching cricket post completion of your level 2, in either environment.

Prior to being eligible for certification for this qualification you must hold as a minimum a current Emergency Aid Certificate, have undertaken training relating to safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable adults and children, and via the ECB DBS department, provide a clear enhanced DBS check.

This qualification leads to paid or voluntary roles in coaching the sport of cricket in a variety of settings including working as a head coach within an amateur cricket club or working as a coach within the professional.

The skills and knowledge developed through this qualification may also be used enable you to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications in coaching other sports, supporting PE in school sport and sports development.

Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Qualifications Learner Pack and appropriate learning resource.
