1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

The qualification is designed to provide you with the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football, including how to effectively plan, conduct and evaluate football coaching sessions for players of all ages. The qualification is composed of four mandatory components.
The qualification is recognised as the industry standard level 2 qualification for coaching football by the national governing body for Football in England: The Football Association. The FA is also the professional body for football coaches, providing services and support to those who hold this and other football qualifications.
It is also recognised by and has the support of a range of employers, including the County Football Associations, Football Clubs, schools and colleges, as the sole qualification for those looking to progress their career in coaching football. The qualification is also endorsed by the lead agency for coaching, UK Coaching, as meeting its UKCC criteria.

The qualification is designed to prepare coaches for employment in paid or voluntary roles a football coach in local amateur junior/senior clubs, FA Charter Standard clubs and schools, local authority community football schemes and Football in the Community Schemes.
It is recommended that you complete the 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football prior to accessing a programme of training for this qualification and you need to be 16 years of age. You will also need to have completed The FA’s Online ‘Laws of the Game’ Module and, usually provided as part of the programme of learning, to hold an FA Emergency Aid Certificate and have attended The FA workshop ‘Safeguarding Children in Football’ (learners under the age of 18 years are eligible to complete an alternative to the workshop).
This qualification leads to paid or voluntary roles in coaching the sport of employment in paid or voluntary roles a football coach in local amateur junior/senior clubs, FA Charter Standard clubs and schools, local authority community football schemes and Football in the Community Schemes.
The skills and knowledge developed through this qualification may also be used enable you to progress to other industry-relevant qualifications in coaching other sports, leadership, supporting PE in schools sport and sports development. Following a period of practice as a qualified Level 2 coach, you may also choose to follow a programme of training for the UEFA B Award.
Recognised centres offering this qualification determine their own fees and they will vary from centre to centre. The fees charged should entitle you to a programme of learning and assessment, registration and certification for the qualification, a 1st4sport Qualifications Learner Pack and appropriate learning resource.
