It’s specifically aimed at individuals who wish to work in operational roles in leisure and recreation facilities, ranging from leisure and recreation centres to caravan and holiday parks.

Qualifications that can be Delivered as Part of this Apprenticeship

Learners must complete the following competency qualification to successfully achieve this apprenticeship:
1st4sport Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being Operational Services (QCF)

Learners must complete the following mandatory technical certificate in employment awareness to successfully achieve this apprenticeship:
1st4sport Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning (QCF)

Learners must complete a minimum of one qualification to successfully achieve this apprenticeship.
Any 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching or 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching can be used for apprentices working on sites where they are responsible for delivering coaching sessions in a context of a specific sport.

Organisations new to 1st4sport
If you are not already a 1st4sport recognised centre, you need to apply to become one. The first step is to check you can meet the Centre Recognition and Qualification Approval Criteria for the qualification (s) within this apprenticeship that you are interested in and submit the forms to us.

Existing 1st4sport recognised centres
If you are already a 1st4sport recognised centre and would like to seek approval to deliver any qualifications that can be used as part of this apprenticeship, please check that your centre can meet the Qualification Approval Criteria.
