With the arrival of the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure fast approaching in September 2010, 1st4sport has had a number of qualifications accepted to be included in the ASL component of the Foundation, Higher and Advanced Diplomas.

We are also a functional skills awarding body, which means your learners can also benefit from tailor-made functional skills resources specifically designed for the sports industry.

How You Can Offer Accepted ASL Qualifications?

To be able to offer the qualifications to your learners, you need to be part of a consortium approved to deliver the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure. You can then apply to become a 1st4sport recognised centre and become approved to deliver the qualifications.

Non-1st4sport recognised centres

If you are not already a 1st4sport recognised centre, you need to apply to become one by completing a Centre Recognition Application Form. You can now do this online through Athena, the 1st4sport online quality assurance system, where you can also apply to become approved to deliver the qualifications that interest you. To access Athena, simply call us on 0113-290 7610 to receive a unique access code or fill in the Request for Centre Recognition Application Form and we will send you one.

Existing 1st4sport recognised centres

If you are already a 1st4sport recognised centre and would like to seek approval to deliver any qualifications that can be used as part of an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship, please access Athena,citing the qualifications you are interested in and complete the qualification approval process. If you cannot remember your username and password, please contact us at qdmt@1st4sportqualifications.com.

We don’t charge you any fees to apply to deliver any of these qualifications.

We are the only awarding body with an extensive portfolio of coaching qualifications, many of which are part of a UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) endorsed coach education programme. These Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) are currently exclusive to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF); such qualifications will be replaced by an appropriate Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) offering in 2010 with a view to them being accepted as part of the ASL Catalogue. Below are a number of other qualifications that are currently in development with a view to also being accepted as part of the ASL Catalogue.

How You Can Offer These Qualifications?

These qualifications are presently in development or in the process of gaining approval for the ASL Catalogue. Therefore, they cannot be delivered as part of the Diploma yet. However, if you would like to be notified of when the qualifications you are interested in become available, please submit your details and we will contact you as and when the qualifications are available to be delivered.
