The 1st4sport Level 1 NVQ Award in Sport and Active Leisure (QCF) is a competence-based qualification that provides learners aged 14 and over with an opportunity to be assessed, over a period of time, on both the practical and theoretical aspects of working in a sport and active leisure environment. The qualification is ideal for young people in a school or college environment, or for those new to working in a sport and active leisure facility where they will:
- help to issue equipment
- provide good customer service
- deal with accidents and emergencies
- help to plan, prepare and lead sport and active leisure sessions.
Due to the learners’ age, it’s accepted that many will not be employed, but may be gathering their evidence in a college, school or other, more protected environment (eg a custodial establishment).
Prerequisites
To achieve the qualification, learners are required to be at least 14 years of age at registration.
Structure
Mandatory Units
The qualification is divided into the following mandatory units:
| Unit Title | GLH | Credit |
